Push is a diy art + written works publishing / distributing collective born from the exhaustion and comraderie of artists living a high-pressure existence.

Push, originally a tag blasted throughout NY, was a cheeky "chin up" to fellow new yorkers while skating through Brooklyn all the way over the bridge to Manhattan. Working the exhausting grind of service, being front and back of house in bars and restaraunts you meet a team full of colorful people with wild talents and stories. In these spaces it was pretty clear there was a need for individuals not occupying the art industry to have more opportunites to have their stories - and art shared.

Being an artist doesn't have to be as isolating as the work can often feel. Nor its validity based on eligibility. Authentic expression is something we all ultimately strive towards - a vision that creates community.

Through pressure, time or tension there's always a reason to push - whether towards perfection, passion, or simply completion. All worthy of endurance.
